Rev. Larry Allen Sewell, 54, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 12, 2010, at his residence in Muncie.
He was born September 21, 1955, in Muncie, the son of Alvis and Amaryllis (Terry) Sewell, and graduated from Yorktown High School.
He was employed at Borg Warner for twenty eight years and presently was working at Magna Powertrain.
He came to know the Lord at the age of seven and had pastored three churches and held several revivals.
He was a member of the 20th Street Southern United Baptist Church, was attending the Gloryland United Baptist Church, and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #287.
Surviving are three sons, Chris Sewell, (wife, Tina), Selma, Chad Sewell, (wife, Shellie), Muncie, and Adam Sewell, (wife, Shawna), Selma; his parents, Alvis and Amaryllis Sewell, Yorktown; two brothers, John Sewell, (wife, Kathy), Muncie, and Rick Sewell, (wife, Cathy), Leesburg; and six grandchildren, Allen Sewell, Ross Sewell, Abby Sewell, Eli Sewell, Juliet Sewell and Meredith Sewell. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Kathy Brown, Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gayson Terry, Elfie Terry, Elzy Sewell and Jane Sewell.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Bethel United Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Goad and Rev. Carl Goad officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Parson Mortuary and an hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
