Larry Junior Smith, 63, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 18, 2011, at Parkview Nursing Center.
He was born January 13, 1948, in Loretta, Tennessee, the son of Lurine (Flemings) Smith and Travis Smith. Larry grew up in Muncie.
He owned "The Trading Post" for fifteen years and painted for Odle Painting.
Larry enjoyed fishing; camping; canoeing and going on any "road-trip". He was a member of Delaware Masonic Lodge #46, F &AM.
Larry married his childhood sweetheart, Reba Mullins on March 4, 1965, and they were married over 45 years.
Survivors include his wife, Reba (Mullins) Smith, Muncie; his mother-in-law, Mary Mullins, Muncie; one daughter, Diana Hale, (husband-Jim), Muncie; two brothers, Daryl Smith, (wife-Sam), Muncie and Johnnie Smith, Muncie; two sisters, Cheryl Jones, (husband-Johnnie J.), Muncie and Cathy Horn, Muncie; one brother-in-law, James Mullins, (wife-Libby), Muncie; three sisters-in-law, Sheila Crawmer, (husband-Mike), Muncie; Deanie Metcalf, Muncie and Gaye Mullins, Muncie; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Larry Smith Jr.; one daughter, Sheila K. Rutledge; his sister, Phyllis Bordley; his father-in-law, Clyde Mullins; and two brothers-in-law, Randy Mullins and Ray Mullins.
Services will be held 12 noon, Monday, January 24, 2011, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
