Laura Geraldine Simos, 87 of Muncie, died Tuesday evening, July 4, 2017 at the home of her daughter following an brief illness. She was born December 27, 1929 in Dunkirk, IN and was the daughter of the late Fred & Viola (Overla) Shaneyfelt.
Laura retired from Indiana Glass after 43 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed crocheting, watching game shows and spending time with her family.
Laura is survived by her daughter Sharon Kay Kane of Muncie; her grandson Christopher Thomas Kane of Muncie; sister-in-law Katherine Paschal (Jim) of Muncie; good family friend Tom Beck of Albany; several nieces and nephews also survive; her beloved grand dogs Patches, Shadow, and Tippy also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Simos in 2010, her son-in-law Arthur Kane in 2016; two brothers Ralph and Fred Shaneyfelt; three sisters Velma Champ, Maxine Lough, and Helen Nevil.
Funeral Services for Laura will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Griener officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home
