Pearl Lavelle Black, 99, passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2022 , surrounded by her family. She was born January 17, 1923 in Blountsville, IN., she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel "Bales" Linville.

She met and married Clyde W. Black on August 19, 1941 in Selma, IN. They began their family and she was house maker in her own home.

Lavelle was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 19 of Muncie, IN., &  Charter member of Unit 437 of Selma, IN., 10th District (Past President), Department of Indiana (Past President). She was active with Hoosier Girls State (Counselor), American Legion Base Ball and Indiana Soldiers & Sailors Children's Home. She had received The Sagamore of the Wabash Award from Governor O'Bannon for her work with Hoosier Girls State. She was also involved with School Activities while children were in school.

She is survived by her family Steve (Becky) Black of Brownsburg, IN., Beth (Don) Cronin of Aiken, SC., Lana (Richard) Burns of Ninety-Six, SC., 5 grandchildren: Jennifer Johnson, Brandon Burns, Eric Black, Scott Cronin, Brice Cronin, 8 great grandchildren and sister Rosalie Hiatt of Muncie, IN. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers Vernon Linville, Robert Linville, Sam Linville, 3 sisters Dora Pursley, Lonnie Mortorff and Cletus Kelley.

Calling will be on Thursday June 2, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. to 2 P.M. at Garden View Funeral Home at 10501 N. St. Rd. 3 Muncie, IN. Service will be be at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Dennis Rush officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens Of Memory.
