Obituary

Lawrence Eugene Fleming, 97, of Hartford City, died Thursday afternoon, May 24, 2018 at University Nursing Center in Upland. He was born March 9, 1921 in Wabash, IN and was the son of the late Theodore Hugh & Loretta (Elsroth) Fleming.
Lawrence retired from Montpellier Glove as a sewing machine repairman. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during WW II. Lawrence was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic Church in Hartford City where he was very active. He was an active member of the Senior Citizens and the American Legion.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Hope Delores (Morris) Fleming of Hartford City; two daughters Rita Reedy (Lowell) of Hartford City and Barbara Teagarden of Marion; five grandchildren and several great- grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren; a sister Mary Cullum of Kansas City, KS. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a wife Elnora A. (Cruse) Fleming in 2004; son Jerry Fleming, two daughters Loretta Sherman and Catherine Rudd; two brothers Jack and Charles Fleming.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 209 South Spring Street, Hartford City, IN 47348, with Rev. Dave Newton celebrant. Burial with military honors being conducted by the Montpellier American Legion Honor Guard will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home.
