Lee L. Huffman, 64, of Marion, Indiana fell into his final restful slumber on July 13, 2023 in Muncie, IN. Lee fought a most courageous battle with cancer, sadly Lee succumbed to the long fought journey while hand in hand with family who were surrounding his bedside. His courage was fueled not only by pure determination, but also with aid from his supportive family and unyielding faith.
Lee was a devoted spouse, father, grandfather and great grandfather and is the widower of Janet L. Huffman, who preceded Lee in death on Nov. 13, 2020. Also preceded in death is his son Lee L. Huffman Jr. on January 6, 1984. Lee is survived by his parents George A. Huffman and Judy, Siblings; brother Tim L. Huffman and wife Lindsey, sister Lisa D. McKnight and husband Max, brother Randy E. Huffman and wife Angela. Children: Joshua L. Huffman and wife Stacey, Andrea D. Huffman and partner John Parsons, and Emma N. R. Huffman and fiancé Steven Ward. Also surviving are his very close kept cousins Mark Dwigans and Marsha Sledge (among many other family members and friends).
Lee was a long time resident of Marion, Indiana, he was the embodiment of dedication, hard work and self motivation. These skillsets allowed him to further his education in computer programming while working full time to further his career path. Lee was employed with Star Financial Bank for 25 years, and also proceeded to work at Weaver Popcorn for 23 years until his battle with cancer began. Lee fought hard and continued to work, for as long as his body would allow (and then some).
Lee had a diverse number of interests, hobbies and things that brought him great joy. Lee enjoyed reloading, periodically going target shooting on his cousin Mark's farm. His ever evolving interests and self motivation taught Lee how to build and fly model rockets. Lee was a fan of sci-fi related topics, movies and shows and also enjoyed learning about space and history. Most things related to cars and how they functioned (or were repaired) were a long standing hobby and Lee was a self taught mechanic. The strong mechanical aptitude and self driven desire for knowledge allowed him to learn about pinball restoration and car restoration. He also was fascinated with trains and ships, specifically the RMS Titanic and the Queen Mary (which he had visited on multiple occasions). He had a broad taste in music including Enya, Fleetwood Mac, Boston among many others. Lee enjoyed being outside and was also fond of gardening and has lovingly been deemed the "tomato whisperer". He enjoyed spending time with his siblings and cousins, family and friends whom he has shared many fond, silly and exciting memories. Lee also enjoyed traveling and had dreams to RV the country once he reached retirement.
Lee was very task driven and was always a solid provider for his family, his work ethic was second to none. He wasn't afraid of getting his hands dirty, and to lend a helping hand when needed. Lee loved his family greatly, and among his circle of friends he could be described as steadfast, loyal and dependable. Memories shared with him will be lovingly remembered by all.
