Lee Roy Smithers, 51, of Muncie, IN died Wednesday September 17, 2008. He was born on August 28, 1957 the son of Clyde and Rosalee (Duncan) Smithers. On August 31, 1979 he married Marjorie (Rosenbaum) Smithers who survives.
Lee Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and antiques.
Surviving relatives include his wife Marjorie Smithers of Daleville, IN; father, Clyde Smithers (wife: Wilma) of Jamestown, TN; one son, Charles Smithers of Daleville, IN; one daughter, Christina Smithers of Daleville, IN; one brother, Charles Smithers (wife: Mary) of Muncie, IN; one sister, Lynn Webb (husband: Eric) of Eaton, IN; niece, Katelynn Webb; five additional nieces, one nephew, two sisters-in-law, Sandra Skeen (husband: Randall), Vicky Upchurch (husband: Fletcher), one best friend, Russell O''Neal.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. on Monday September 22, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Little Red Door. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
