Lemmie Pearl Burris, 92, of Muncie, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Integra Specialty Hospital, in Muncie. She was born on May 7, 1918 in Casey County, KY to the late Matt and Nora (Lowe) Cox. In 1944 Pearl married her love, William Howard Burris.
Pearl was a homemaker all of her life. She loved to play Skip-Bo and watch LifeTime and Hallmark movies. Pearl also loved her flowers. She was an avid mall-walker and McDonald''s eater. But above all, Pearl loved having her family and friends around.
Pearl is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Spangler of Decatur, MI; 4 grandchildren: Tammy Spangler of Muncie; David Spangler of Decatur, MI; Rita Spangler of Port Charlotte, FL; and Michelle Mickle of Decatur, MI; 5 great-grandchildren: Amy Mellema (husband, Josh); Patrick Donavon; Kevin Donavon; Danielle Stanfill; Colby Spangler; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Makayla and Alex Mellema; and several nieces and nephews.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Michael Burris; 7 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
