Leonard Bryant, 66, of Muncie, died early Tuesday morning, August 6th, 2013 at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville, IN. He was born June 29th, 1947 in Dehue, West Virginia, and was the son of the late Anderson & Rinda (Perry) Bryant.
Leonard retired in 1990 from TRW (Dayton Steel) and was a member of the steel workers union #6772. He served many years as a pastor in the Muncie, Losantville, and Parker City area. He was pastor for 15 years of Trinity Deliverance Temple in Winsor. He loved going to church, playing his guitar, and reading the Bible. He loved his family and enjoyed playing and being with his grandchildren. Leonard and his wife Laura raised her three siblings, Louise, Jesse, and Virgil.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Laura Jane (Jones) Bryant of Muncie, whom he married December 30th , 1965; three children, Anita Sue Bryant of Tampa, FL, Sheila Diane Bowles of Ft. Wayne, and Leonard Bryant Jr. of Muncie; four grandchildren, Christopher Bowles of Ft. Wayne, Candice Bowles of Ft. Wayne, Cody Anderson Bryant of Muncie, and Michael Len Bryant of Muncie; a brother Michael Ramey of Jeffrey, West Virginia , two sisters Wanda Shell (Bob) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Sandra Johnson (Edgar) of Taplin, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister Lola Rose Ellen Ramey and brother Jerry Bryant.
Funeral Services for Leonard will be held Monday, August 12th , 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Wendell Bell from Covington, West Virginia officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, August 11th, 2013 at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
