Leslie B. Hiatt, 88, of Yorktown, IN passed away peacefully at 7:45 AM on Monday, April 16, 2007 at HCR Manor Care Nursing Home in Anderson, IN. He was born on November 18, 1918 in Delaware County the son of Edmond and Catherine (Gibson) Hiatt.
Leslie was a member of Town Acres Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing golf with family and friends. He retired in 1976 from Delco Remy GMC in Anderson after 33 years of service.
Leslie is survived by one son, Larry Leslie Hiatt (wife - Barbara J.) of Anderson; eight grandchildren, Leslie D., Phillip, Richard, Steven, and Don Hiatt, Brendie Turner, Allison DeFord, Melissa Gruber; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Hiatt of Yorktown; seven sisters-in-law, Sandy Brown (husband - Jess) of California, Emily Heath (husband - J.T.) of Muncie, Alice Huffman of Muncie, Mary Myers of Tennessee, Oretha Monroe of Muncie, Twyla Monroe of Muncie, Betty Hiatt of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jane Hiatt, parents, one son, Phillip Eugene Hiatt, three brothers, Floyd, Wayne, and Carl Hiatt.
The family would like to thank the staff of Manor Care Nursing Home for the wonderful care that Leslie received during his stay.
Services will be 12:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN with Pastor Mark Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
