Obituary

Lester McCoy Miller, 81, passed away on Tuesday, 30, 2010 at his residence. He was born on January 6, 1929 in Kentucky to the late Virgil and Ruby (Gardener) Miller. Lester served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant from 1948--1951. On April 5, 1986 he married Beverly Rose (McDonnel) Coats in Muncie.
Lester was employed as a laborer with Anchor Glass in Winchester for 17 years before retiring in 1991. He enjoyed camping and flower gardening. Lester was also well-known in the community for his brownie making ability and he was referred to as The Brownie Man'' by many. Above all Lester loved his family.
Lester is survived by his wife of 24 years, Beverly Miller; children: Lester Miller, Jr (wife, Janet) of Hebron, IN; Wayne Miller (wife, Debbie) of Wheatfield, IN; David Miller of Chesterton, IN; Sherry Sue Day (husband, Dan) of Dunlap, TN; and Carol Miller of Muncie; step-children: David Coats (companion, Beth Capper) of Hartford City; Larry Coats of Muncie; and Tina Miller (husband, Jack) of Muncie; sister Betty Davis of Kentucky; sister-in-law Anna Bowen (husband, Larry) of Muncie; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Jim Day will officiate the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
