Lewis Hopper, 67, of Selma, IN died Friday January 18, 2008 at his residence in Selma. He was born on April 29, 1940 the son of Manless C. Hopper, Sr. and Helen (Daughtery) Hopper. On May 6, 1961 in Winchester, IN he married Peggy A. Hopper ( Lindsey),who preceded him in death in 2005. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1958.
Lewis was a former fire chief of the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department. He worked for Westinghouse and ABB. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved watching the Indianapolis Colts.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Renee'' Hopper of Selma, IN; Kelly Caffey (husband: Danny) of Parker City, IN; one brother, Manless C. Hopper, Jr. (wife: Carolyn) of Muncie, IN; one sister, Julia Nibarger of Muncie, IN; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife parents and one sister, Susan Minton.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday January 21, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Carlton Bowden will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home.
