Lila Ruth Kretz, 97, of Dunkirk, and formerly of Muncie, went to be with her heavenly father, Sunday morning, April 14th, 2013, at Miller''s Merry Manor in Dunkirk. She was born November 24th, 1915 in Poling, IN., and was the daughter of the late Leroy C. & Agnes Glee (Garringer) Knisely.
Lila was a member for many years at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Gideon''s Auxiliary, 55 Alive Club, and she formerly was a member at the Selma United Methodist Church. Lila enjoyed crocheting and making lap blankets for those in need. She loved planting and raising flowers.
Lila is survived by her two sons; Larry Kretz (Lori) of Fowler, CO and Tom Kretz (Mary) of Frederick, MD; five grandchildren, Rachel Anderson (Kevin) of Albany, IN, Andrew Kretz (Kellie) of Elizabeth, KY, Lauren Anderson (Justin) of Camby, IN, Rebecca Wlazlo (Michael) of Minneapolis, MN, and Susan Tabor of Fredrick, MD; twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Kretz in 2001; a brother Gordon R. Knisely, and a sister Ilene M. Goble.
Funeral Services for Lila will be held, Thursday, April 18th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be to Covenant Partners, with envelopes provided at the funeral home. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of Miller''s Merry Manor of Dunkirk, for the care they gave Lila.
