Lillian Parker, age 92, of Hartford City, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 in Muncie. She was born September 28, 1918 in Hartford City to Clyde and Bessie (Younce) Dorton.
She was a farm wife and enjoyed working in the fields alongside her husband. She loved crafts and collecting and was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church and the Kitchen Kemist Extension Homemakers Club as well as the Ch-Ki-Lo Sunday School Class. Lillian graduated from Hartford City High School, Class of 1936. She married John S. Parker on September 28, 1939 and he survives along with her son Fred (wife Connie) Parker; grandchildren, Dean (wife Ashley) Parker and Pam McGreevy; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Dorton.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, with burial to follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Pastor Colby Smith will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from11:00 AM until the service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Hazelwood Christian Church.
