Linda J. Jones, 75, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away September 1,2025,  peacefully at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Muncie on January 6, 1950, to the late Charles and Lois "Maxine" Freed. She married Dan Jones, who preceded her in death.

Linda enjoyed bowling, gardening, and working puzzles. She was a devoted Ball State fan, especially of football and volleyball, and also faithfully followed the Indiana Pacers, Fever, and Colts. She retired from Ball State University in June of 2023, after a long career with the Educational Psychology Department.

She loved helping people, mentoring graduate students, and participating in Bible studies.

Linda is survived by her son, Michael C. Brown; daughter, Cheryl A. Ishida (Tos); grandchildren, Christopher Ishida (Mika) and Heather Gidcumb (John); great-grandson, Heath Ishida; and nieces, Rhonda Cook and Michelle Atkinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan; her sister, Lois J. Montgomery; and her brother, Charles "David" Freed.

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
