Linda Lucile Yokaitis (Lewis) passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 29, 1952 in Muncie, Indiana to parents' Earl Lewis and Betty (Shaffer) Daugherty.
A lifelong resident of Muncie, Indiana, Linda graduated from Yorktown High School and earned her bachelor's degree in science from Ball State University. She nearly completed her master's degree and worked as a switchboard operator at Ball Memorial Hospital for several years.
Linda enjoyed fishing, gardening, a lifelong love for horses, and a deep appreciation for the arts, books, and antiquities. Above all, she adored her grandsons, Jacob and Justin Garringer, who brought her endless joy.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Beth Garringer; Son-in-law, Ryan Garringer; grandsons, Jacob and Justin Garringer; brother, William Lewis; and sister-in-law, Marilou Lewis.
She is preceded in passing by her parents', Earl Lewis and Betty (Shaffer) Daugherty; and son, Timothy Yokaitis.
Family and friends may call at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N St. Rd. 3, Muncie IN 47303, on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Josh Johnson officiating at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
