IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Loa
Boles
November 12, 1940 – October 8, 2023
After a wonderful life Loa Ellen Boles peacefully left her loving family to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Loa was a wonderful woman that loved life. She was loved by many and will be missed and cherished always. Her memory will live on with generations. Loa's story began in Wayne County, West Virginia, as the fifth child of Fred Gordon and Minnie Mae Meredith. Her father's family came from Wales, and her mother was a Mohawk Indian.
After high school Loa was swept off her feet by Bob, her husband of 59 years, and she moved to Indiana. Loa and Bob made an old house, on the White River, a home that friends and family loved to come to. Loa could be found in the garden or canning all summer, and every winter she would be sewing. Not only did she make clothing, she also beautifully designed and sewed dolls for her granddaughter. Later in her life she loved to make quilts for every family member.
Loa will be lovingly remembered by her children, Steven Boles, Deb Howell (Roger), and daughter-in-law Tammy; grandchildren Selina Jones (Davey), Madriane Klein (Dave) and Andrew Pugsley (Hannah); great grandchildren Dylan, Cooper, Brittany and Bryce; and numerous other family members and friends. She will also be sadly missed by her dog Osco, who never left her side.
Loa was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Boles Jr.; her parents Fred Gordon Meredith and Minnie Mae Meredith; sisters, Helen Mae Carl, Ethel Marie Miller, Virginia Lee Beal; brothers, Joe Fred Meredith, Gordon Ray Meredith; and a great grandchild Emma Klein.
Loa was a member of Glad Tidings Church, and even though she was no longer able to attend church weekly she enjoyed visits by Pastor Jeff and watching services online.
Loa earned her associate degree in accounting after her children were grown. She retired from Advantage Home Health Care.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, prior to the service on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at 4:00 PM, at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery on Friday, October 13th, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
