Lola D. "Cotton" Raef, 87, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center, Parker City following an extended illness.
She was born in Weiner, Arkansas, February 6, 1923, the daughter of Charles S. and Mary Bell (Reesor) Coleman. Lola graduated from Weiner High School in 1942.
Lola was a member of Fairlawn Church of Christ and Modern Miss Home Economics Club.
She moved to Muncie in 1942 and worked for Ball Brothers and Warner Gear during WW II.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Wayne Raef, (wife, Anita), Selma and John Michael Raef, Fairmount; three grandchildren, Brian Raef, (wife, Tonya), Byrdstown, Tennessee, Mark Raef, (wife, Carla), Selma and John Michael Raef, Jr, Gaston and three great grandchildren; one sister, Sylvia Lamb, Punta Gorda, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and one grandson, Brandon.
Services will be held 12:00 noon Monday, November 29, 2010 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Minister Gary Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Family and friends may call Sunday, November 28, 2010, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. or one hour prior to service time on Monday.
Memorial may be sent to Cancer Services of East Central Indiana, (Little Red Door), 401 W. Jackson Street, Muncie, IN 47305-1516.
