Lotta Belle Hornbaker, 83, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at The Waters of Muncie.
She was born May 12, 1924 in Dunkirk, the daughter of Michael John Gutshall and Hazel (Luzadder) Gutshall.Lotta attended Dunkirk schools and lived in this area all of her life. She worked over twenty years in the Gift Shop at Ball Memorial Hospital where she retired, she had also worked in the city schools as a cook. Lotta enjoyed playing euchre and bingo.
Mrs. Hornbaker is survived by a son, Ron Hornbaker, (wife-Ann); a daughter, Phyllis Valenzuela; five grandchildren, Becky McConnell, (husband-Ed), Teresa Harden, Robert Hammond, Jaime Charnley, (husband-Josh), and Cory Schmidt; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Gutshall; and several nieces and nephews. Lotta was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Truman "Bud" Gutshall; two sisters, Virginia Crawmer and Mary Hornbaker.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie, with Pastor Robert Byers officiating. Burial will follow.
There will be no calling.
The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
