Louise Anita Welty, 81, of Muncie, IN, went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2023. She was born November 8, 1942 to Waldo and Blanche (Criblez) Wilkins and was raised in Bluffton, Ohio.  Louise graduated from Cory-Rawson High School, Bluffton, and from Elkhart Institute of Technology as a Medical Technologist. She was a founding member of North Delaware Baptist Church, Muncie, where she served many years as a children's Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, and in many other ministry roles. She was active in the East Central Baptist Association. She led the International Wive's Ministry at Ball State University for over 25 years where she taught life skills, ESL classes and American culture to hundreds of ladies and families from around the world. She was an accomplished seamstress and sewed for Rivar's, Inc. for several years. She was known for being a great baker, especially for her pies and bread, skills she learned in her early years in 4-H. She loved helping others and seemed to always have a smile.

She is survived by her son David Welty of Muncie, IN, and daughter Bonita (Greg) Byman of Huntertown, IN; grandchildren Joel (Abbey) Byman of Evanston, IL, Grant (Sarah) Byman of Muncie, Karysa Byman and Janae Byman, both at Purdue University. She is also survived by sisters Marlene (Marvin) Jones of Liberty Center, OH and Martha (Sid) Safford of Martinsburg, WV; brother Sherman (Mildred) Wilkins of Bluffton, OH, and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Paul James Welty, and sister Elvina Wilkins.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, December 8, 2023 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN 47303, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor James Marlow will officiate. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Visitation will be Thursday, December 7 from 5:30-7:30 PM at the funeral home. Family requests memorial contributions to North Delaware Baptist Church, Muncie, IN, to be used for international missions.
