Lowell Eugene King, 89, former Muncie resident, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2018 surrounded by his family in Sharpsburg, GA.
He was born on January 25, 1929 in Muncie, Indiana to Bessie (Thomas) King and Johnnie W. King. He was retired from Borg Warner where he was a millwright and served in the U.S. Navy for seven years during the Korean War. He was a Past Master of the Eaton Masonic Lodge, and a current member of the Albany Masonic Lodge. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Organization. He participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Walk numerous times and was an avid woodworker. He spent the majority of his life in Muncie and the past 15 years in Americus, GA.
He is preceded in death by two wives, Betty Lou (Bayman) King and Elizabeth (McPhail) King, his parents, siblings and two grandchildren. He is survived by his four children, Betty Jo King Dennin (Fred Dennin) Sharpsburg, GA, Gayla Jean (King)Cashell, Hoschton, GA, Diana Lynne (King) Mosier (Robert Mosier) Blufton, IN and Robert E. King (Carla) Charlotte, N.C., 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Lowell will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gardens of memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a Lodge of Sorrow Service conducted at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home by Anthony Lodge #171 of Albany.
The family requests memorials to be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation in lieu of flowers.Monday
