Maggie Deilkes Buntin, 88, of Muncie, IN died Saturday January 3, 2009 at Willow Bend Living Center in Muncie. She was born on July 20, 1920 in Frankfort, KY the daughter of Graham and Lizzie (Moreland) Wise. On December 26, 1939 she married Carter Deilkes who preceded her in death in 1977. She later married Gilbert Buntin who preceded her in death in 2005. She was a homemaker most of her life and retired from the Southside High School cafeteria.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo, card games, traveling and cooking. She was a member of the Cowan Christian Church, Ladies Aid Society, Cowan School Modern Mothers Club, Shawnee Heights Travel Club and the Cafeteria Bowling League.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Shirley A. Caudill (husband: Hubert) of Dayton, OH; Susan M. Cox (husband: Douglas) of Muncie, IN; six grandchildren, Tim Manis (wife: Lucy) of Greensburg, IN; Jeannie Wann of Muncie, IN; Lori Maynard (husband: Bryan) of Alexandria, IN; Dale Caudill (wife: Meghan) of Champlin, MN; Tony Cox of Macon, GA; Dawn Loase (husband: Brad) of Clayton, OH; seven great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one step great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son, Jimmie Dale, one daughter, Sally Manis, two sisters, three brothers and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 6, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Robert Kellems and Pastor Matt Todd will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
