Margaret R. Hubbard, 82, died Monday morning, May 3, 2010 at Springhurst Health Care in Greenfield due to complications from a stroke.
She was born March 4, 1928 in Howe the daughter of Paul and Virgie (Babcock) Taylor.
She graduated from Lima High School in Howe and received her Bachelor's Degree in Science from Ball State Teachers College. She then married Howard Hubbard in 1949 and remained in the Muncie area.
Mrs. Hubbard was the assistant director of the Delaware County Welfare Department for over twenty years prior to her retirement in 1993.
She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, where she was the treasurer for a number of years.
Surviving are her daughter, Diane Kennedy (husband, Charles), Indianapolis; two grandsons, Scott Kennedy (wife, Jody), Indianapolis and Ward Kennedy, Memphis, TN; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Isabella Kennedy; her sister, Kathryn Sautter (husband, Charles), Howe; a brother, James Taylor (wife, Lona), Howe; a sister-in-law, Betty Taylor, Kendallville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty years, Howard Hubbard in 1999; and two brothers, John and Robert Taylor.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Rev. Melodie Wager officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel or one hour prior to services on Saturday.
