Margaret Lee Jones, 83, passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Margaret was born in Oakville on June 2, 1926, the daughter of Oliver and Flossie (Riley) Brown and was a graduate of Muncie Central High School.
Mrs. Jones worked for several years with Harvest House Cafeteria then began working with Ball State University as a head cook in Noyer Hall. She continued there for ten years until her retirement in 1976.
Margaret was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church, Warner Gear Sympathy Club, United Methodist Church Women, and Farm Bureau.
Survivors include a son, Jim Jones Jr., Indianapolis; two daughters, Sharon Newell, (husband, Larry), Anderson and Linda Duncan, (husband, Gary), Westfield, North Carolina; a brother, Jimmy Ray Brown, (wife, Linda), Muncie; a sister, Marjorie Jackson, Harrison, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-five years and the love of her life, Everett James Jones Sr.; a son, Phillip W. Jones; three brothers, Bud, Melvin and Danny Brown; and two sisters, Patty Patton and Mary Shively.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor David Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
