Margaret Delphia Wesley, 86, of Muncie, IN, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 3, 1922 in Mt. Helen, TN to the late Wiley and Ada (Jones) Peters.
On May 11, 1947 Dephia married the love of her life, Alonzo "Lon" H. Wesley. She was a homemaker all of her life. She attended Southern United Baptist Church; enjoyed flower gardening; quilting; and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include her loving husband of 62 years, Alonzo Wesley of Muncie; sons Loyd Wesley (wife: Deanna) of Lyndon Center, VT and Larry Wesley (wife: Rita) of Selma, IN; 4 grandchildren Travis Wesley (wife: Ana); Troy Wesley (wife: Olivia); Laura Cameron (husband: Scott); and Bill Wesley; 4 great-grandchildren Angela; Alexandra; Katelyn; and Grace Wesley; and several nieces and nephews.
Delphia was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Pastor Chris Sewell will officiate the service. Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
