Marian L. Orr, 69, passed away at 6:02 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at her residence at Lake Mohee in Hartford City.
Marian was born on June 15, 1940 in Hartford City, IN to Francis M. Vinson, of Park Place Apartments in Hartford City, and the Late LaVonna (Michael) Vinson.
Marian graduated from Redkey High School in 1958. She had attended National School of Aeronautics in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Ball State University with honors in Business Management in 2001.
She married Richard E. "Butch" Orr on January 4, 1992 in the Redkey United Methodist Church.
Marian was a member of the St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, a former member of the Board of Directors and former treasurer of the United Way of Blackford Co., and member of the Gamma Nu Sorority Omega Chapter, of which she had held several local and state offices.
Marian had retired on December 31, 2005 from the Visy Paper Co. in Hartford City, where she had been their Human Resource Administrator.
She also enjoyed fishing, reading, camping, and just spending time with family and friends.
Marian will be sadly missed by her husband, Richard E. Orr "Butch" of Lake Mohee; 3 sons, Michael A. (Wife-Robin) Khayyata of Arlington Heights, IL, Robert H. Orr (Companion-Wedda Sills) of Hartford City, David E. Orr of Montpelier; 2 daughters, Christina S. (Husband-Tim) Manor of Portland, Sandra L. Orr of Alexandria; 9 grand children, Kaden Khayyata, Margaret Khayyata, Richard Orr, Anthony Orr, Brandon Sills, Cassie Sills, Candace McDonald, Brittany Manor and Caleb Manor; one brother, William E. (Wife-Donna) Vinson of Muncie and several nieces and nephews.
Marian was preceded in death by her mother, LaVonna (Michael) Vinson, who died on Nov. 15, 1994
A Christian Wake Service will be at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Keplinger Funeral Home, with Father Dave J. Newton of St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church officiating.
Mass of the Christian Burial for Marian will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 209 South Spring St., Hartford City, Indiana, with Father Dave J. Newton Officiating.
Interment will follow at The Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, Indiana.
Visitation for Marian will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:15 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 North High Street, Hartford City, Indiana.
