Marie Beall, age 92, of Muncie passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Marie was born June 10, 1919 in Muncie, IN to Thomas and Malinda (Hammond) Hawkins. She farmed for many years and was a Retail Clerk at Hartley''s Jewelry Store in Hartford City for 30 years. Marie was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and was a former treasurer there. She also was a member of the Rural Friendship Home Economics Club for 50 years and was a Past President. Marie loved to play piano, Euchre, make jewelry, crochet and especially be a caregiver for in-laws and family as caring for people came second nature to her.
She married Alva L. Beall on February 5, 1938 in Farmland, IN and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1993. She is survived by her sons, Don Beall, (wife Myrna), of Eaton, IN, James Beal (wife Betty), of Anderson, and Joe Beall, of Muncie; grandchildren, Tim Beall (wife Teresa), of Albany, IN, Shelly Benson (husband Kirk), of Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, Tony Beall, (wife Jennifer), of Eaton, Jeff Beall, (wife Melanie), of Eaton, Lisa Astrop, (husband Dale), of Albany, Brenda House, (husband Bernie), of Albany; 7 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, nieces, Annabelle Black, Ethel Wilkins, Ruby Mikels, and Rosie Foiles, all of OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 half brother, and 5 half sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 2 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. Sate Rd. 3, Muncie, IN 47303 with Rev. Ronald Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Mt.
