Marie Whitenack, 98, passed away Monday August 24, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
A native of Union Port in Randolph County, she was the daughter of William (Roy) Kabel and Dora "Terrell" Kabel. Marie attended Winchester Lincoln School and was formerly employed with Ball Brothers and Kitselman Center. Marie was a 50+ year member of Friends Memorial Church. She was a former member of Order of The Eastern Star, where she served as Matron for two years and was a member of Avondale Sympathy Club.
Survivors include six grandchildren, Kathryn Taylor Niese (husband, Michael) Muncie, Steven Whitenack (wife, Joann) Syracuse, Indiana, Linda Whitenack, Creston, Ohio, Julie Gee (husband, Grant) Carmi, Illinois, John David Whitenack (wife Brenda), Evansville, Indiana and Jodie Whitenack, Muncie; one sister, Catherine Fisher (husband, Joseph), Muncie; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Whitenack; two sons, Charles Whitenack and David Whitenack and six brothers.
Funeral services for Marie will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Norma West officiating.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
