Marilyn J. Sylvester, 86, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on February 19, 2025, at Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Born on January 24, 1939, in Muncie, Indiana, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Graham) and grew up in the Muncie area. Marilyn married the love of her life, Joseph Sylvester, and together they shared a lifetime of love and memories.

Marilyn was known for her love of reading and spent countless hours immersed in her favorite books. She also cherished family gatherings, where her warmth and kindness made her the heart of the home. One of her greatest joys was baking cookies, which she loved to share with family and friends.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Marilyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kara E. Markwell; son, Tyson Sylvester; brother, Jack Graham; sister, Esther Hinds; grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nellie Graham; her husband, Joseph Sylvester; her son, John Sylvester; and her brother, Harry Graham.

Visitation will be held at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. St. Rd. 3, Muncie, Indiana, on February 27, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Online condolences can be made at gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com.
