Obituary

Marion Arthur Russell passed away unexpectedly November 25, 2011 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.He was born January 25, 1929 at home in Hamilton Township, Delaware County to Marion A. and Alma (Clevenger) Russell.He started farming at the age of nine with his brother when their father passed away and continued farming where he was born throughout his life. He was an innovative farmer and was always willing to help other farmers. He was a member of Delaware County Farm Bureau for 60 years. He also attended Eden Church faithfully and he lived his life true to his beliefs.
He was married to Betty Harley with whom he attended Royerton School from first grade through high school.He and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada having traveled to nearly all fifty states in the United States.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Russell; his daughter, Karen S. Parsons (husband, John), his sons, Joseph M. Russell (wife, Sharon), and Paul M. Russell (wife, Diane), special niece, Rhea Stover and her son, Corey; grandchildren, Nathan Parsons, Adam Sieber, Jacob Russell, Abby Russell, Adam Russell, Lindsay Ford and Jeremy Russell; great grandchildren, Brendan, Levi, Katie, Claire, Ryan, Stella and Graham; his sisters, Wilma Hewitt and Ruth Storms and a brother, James Russell (wife, Esther). He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Mary Calhoun, Edna Tarbell and Jane Lee.
Funeral services for Marion Arthur Russell will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3 Muncie, IN 47303 with Pastor James Behrendt officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and again one hour before services on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the Christian Ministries Food Pantry, 401 East Main Street, Muncie, IN 47305 or a charity of the donor''s choice.
