Marjorie Lee Hurst, 80, of Hartford City, passed away Wednesday December 19, 2012 at Bridgewater Rehabilitation Centre, Hartford City. Born August 27, 1932 in Buckhannon, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Hobert and Hettie (Godden) Rowan. Marjorie was a homemaker in addition to being a nurse''s aide for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, word search puzzles, crafts, rummage sales, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also had a great love of dogs.
Survivors include loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth F. Hurst of Hartford City; children Kenneth F. (Michelle) Hurst Jr., and Lisa K. (Scott) Hutson both of Hartford City, and Ronald (Alice) Hurst of Sturgis, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Harry Gene Rowan of Mabie, West Virginia; sisters Wilma Tackett and Mildred Duke both of Warren Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Hobert and Hettie Rowan, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and a daughter Carol "Sue" Crawford.
Friends may call from 6-8pm Friday December 21, 2012 at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. S.R. 3 Muncie, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday December 22, 2012, with calling one hour prior at the funeral home. Pastor Matthew Miller will be officiating.
Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
