Marjorie (Jean) Walker, 86, MuncieMarjorie (Jean) Walker passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Jean was born in Boston, Indiana on June 7, 1928, the daughter of John and Ethel (Reynolds) Wise.
She was a graduate of Muncie Central High School. She married the love of her life, William M. Walker, May 3, 1945. While Bill was away in WW II, she worked for Ball Brothers and Goodyear. She also worked for Ingersoll and sold Stanley products and real estate.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Jennings (husband James); a son, Monty Walker (wife Joanie); a sister, Martha Walker; a brother Jack Wise (wife Peggy); 10 grandchildren, Alana Howard, William Jennings, Jewel Jennings, Andre Jennings, Shelley Jett, Stephanie Hite, Steve Williamson, Kendra Franklin, Kaitlyn Walker, Billy Walker, and several great and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 44 years, William Walker, a son, William Jeffrey Walker, a daughter JoAnn Williamson, four brothers, Claude, Robert, James, and John Wise, in laws Martin and Alma Walker, and her best friend Ginny Arnold.
Services for Marjorie will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.gardenviewfuneralhome.com.
