Martha Lou King, 89 of Muncie, died early Sunday morning, December 11th, 2016 at Willow bend Nursing Home. She was born March 17th, 1927 in Muncie, and was the daughter of the late William Gilbert & Mildred Christina (Ruede) Lawson.
Martha enjoyed bowling, playing shuffle board, and socializing with her friends at McDonald''s. She loved to go to horse races with her son DeWayne. Martha was a member of the AMVETS Post #12, Ten Pin League, and Strikes & Spares. Martha was a bartender at the Red Dog Salon for 12 years.
Martha is survived by her son DeWayne Lawson of Muncie; a granddaughter Holly Lawson of Muncie; two sisters Carolyn Lawson-Hughes (Darrel) of Selma and Jane Lawson-Sears (Byron"Bill") of Syracuse, IN; two very special friends Debra Kaye King-Eichholz and Yolanda Keen both of Muncie In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Max King, two sisters Rosalie Butterfield and Joan Wagoner; four brothers Donald, William "Bill", David, and John Lawson.
Funeral Services for Martha will be held Thursday, December 15th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Keen officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
