Martha J. Loer Skaggs, 94, of Upland, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at University Nursing Center in Upland, Indiana.

Martha was born January 28, 1919 in Muncie to the late Harry and Stella Mansfield. Martha retired in 1980 from General Motors. She attended First Baptist Church of Alexandria. She enjoyed puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

Martha is survived by her son, David Loer (wife Sandra) of Matthews; four grandchildren, K.C. Loer and Cameron Bright of Matthews, and Craig Peters and Michael Peters (wife Kathy) of London, KY; two great-grandchildren, Erin Peters and Christopher Peters of London, KY; and a son-in-law, Pete Peters of London, KY.

Martha was preceded in death by her first husband Carl Loer; second husband, Arthur Skaggs; daughter, Beverly Peters; three sisters, Seleatha Pittenger, Ruth Smith, and Wauneta Blankinship; and three brothers, Irvin, Carl, and Paul Mansfield.

A funeral service to celebrate Martha''s life will be 10:00am Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, Indiana. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 9:00am to 10:00am, Saturday at Garden View Funeral Home.
