Martha Louise Stephenson, 92, of Muncie, IN formerly residing in Parker City, IN died Wednesday February 17, 2010 at Liberty Village in Muncie, IN. She was born on March 14, 1917 in Delaware County, IN the daughter of Harry J. and Hazel M. (Wilson) Rector. On March 14, 1933 in Newport, KY she married Harold I. Stephenson.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Selma, IN. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Modern Farm Wifes Home Ec Club and the United Methodist Women Missionary Society. She enjoyed reading, painting, sewing and working at Collegienne Shops. She was a people person and enjoyed being around others and visiting with friends. She was an Avon Representative for over 50 years.
Surviving relatives include five daughters, Janet Jackson (husband: Joe), Judy Dummitt (husband: Leonard) of Muncie; Pat Aul (husband: John) of Yorktown; Billie Jo Neal of Muncie; and Cindy Huffman (husband: Rick) of Parker City; one son, John Stephenson (wife: Helen) of Albany; 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; and 3 step great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Harold (John) Stephenson, infant twin sons, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 20, 2010 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Christ United Methodist Church 9805 East Jackson Street Selma, IN 47383. Pastor Dennis Rush will officiate the service. Entombment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery Chapel of Memories in Muncie, IN. Visitation will also be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN.
