Obituary

Martha J. (Erb) Taylor, 79, of Muncie, IN passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loved ones; after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born November 7, 1928 in West Middlesex, PA to the late Maynard and Sara Jane Erb. She graduated from West Middlesex High School and Westminster College. She received her master''s degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University. Martha married her husband Edward H. Taylor of 54 years on June 5, 1953. Martha taught school at West Middlesex Elementary School in Pa. She retired in 1991 from Muncie Community Schools where she taught elementary education. Her last assignment was at Washington Carver Elementary where she taught 2nd grade.
Besides educating children, Martha was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Mary Martha Circle, and the Methodist Women; she also was a member of Pilot Club International. Martha enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing bridge; her biggest joy came from spending time with her children, grand children and her twin sister Mary Stafford.
Survivors include; husband Edward Taylor, two sons Wayne Taylor (wife Marla), Dean Taylor (wife Joanie) both of Muncie; one daughter, Tracey Williams (husband Greg), of Muncie; nine grandchildren; Jeramiah Taylor, Jason Holland, Jessica Taylor, Justin Holland, Jacob Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Aaron Williams, Alexandra Taylor and Chelsie Taylor and three great grandchildren. Four brothers; Edward Erb (wife Bernice), John Erb (wife Lois), James Erb (wife Jan), David Erb (wife Sandra), five sisters; twin sister Mary Stafford, Helen Richardson, Sara May Miller, Esther Sanderbeck (husband James) Julie Moore (husband James). Also several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Martha has a very special family friend Sheryl Williams.
She was preceded in death by both parents, father-in-law, Ambrose H Taylor and mother-in-law Edna M Taylor, step mother, Dorothy Erb; brother-in-laws; John (Jack) Stafford, Robert Richardson, and Glenn Miller.
Services will be Wednesday January 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie IN. Pastor Martha Lyon will officiate the service. Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. also one hour before service at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Little Red Door of Muncie and Ball Memorial Hospice of Muncie.
