Mary Jo Anderson, 73, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at home after an extended illness. She was born May 23, 1938 in Hartsville, TN. Mary graduated from Clarkrange High School in 1958 and attended Beauty School in Oakridge, TN.
She married Ronald Anderson in 1962. They were married 49 years and lived in the Albany/ Muncie area for that time. Mary enjoyed camping, cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ronald; son, Michael Anderson (wife Angela) of Muncie; daughter, Paula Stewart (husband Tom) of Pendleton; grandchildren, Austin Anderson (fianc Alex Garton) of Muncie, Jesse Anderson (wife Hayley) of Eaton, Kaylee and Chase Stewart, of Pendleton; great grandchildren Keeley and Tenley Anderson; sisters Sylvia Webb (husband Richard) of Crossville, IN, Pat Green (husband David) of Crossville, IN, Margaret Burgess (husband Richard) of Union Grove, AL, and Connie Sisco (husband Larry) of Clarkrange, TN; brother, Rodney Atkinson (wife Ann) of Clarkrange, TN; special brother in law, Fred Anderson (wife Vetta) of Albany, IN; special aunt, Ilean Helton of Crossville, IN; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Atkinson and stepfather, Luther Atkinson.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 27, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie with Pastor Randy Davis officiating and burial to follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, June 26, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Redkey United Methodist Church.
