Mary May Burgess, age 94, of Muncie passed away on Thursday August 1, 2013 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. Born on April 15, 1919 in Gaston, IN, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Effie Gertrude (Haddin) Burgess.
After graduating from high school and business college Mary spent her career working as a secretary first at IME and then later at Ball State. She was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Muncie and was also a member of 55 Alive.
Mary is survived by her niece Sharon (Cliff) Brown of Muncie; great nieces Gina (Bill) Walker and Bethany (Greg) Cmar both of Albany; great-great nieces and nephews Dusty (Tisha) Walker of Albany, Destiny (Dustin) Keith of Noblesville, Emily (Ryan) Earls and Andrew Cmar both of Albany and Logan, Laura, and Maddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Burgess, twin sister Carrie Harvey, sister Rennie Burgess and brothers James and Wayne Burgess.
