Mary Sue Dick, 70, of Eaton , IN went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2009, at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston , Texas , after a courageous battle with lymphoma.
She was born in Holland , Missouri on July 30, 1938, to Charles and Bessie Robertson who preceded her in death. She graduated from Holland High School in 1956 as valedictorian.
Survivors include her son, Michael Duane Dick (wife: Debbie) of Selma; and daughter, Diane Watters (husband: Troy) of Eaton; three grandchildren, Shaun Dick (wife: Michelle) of Westport, IN, Carol Shields (husband: David) of Muncie, and Nicholas Watters (age 8) of Eaton; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Elizabeth Dick (age 1) of Westport, IN; three brothers, Martin Hamlet (wife: Grace) of Peru, IN, William Robertson of Muncie, Danny Robertson (wife: Sara) of Anderson, Lanny Robertson (wife: Rose) of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary worked many years as the business manager for Eaton Foods and New Meridian canneries in Eaton , IN. She was known for her hard work, dedication, and spunk. She worked during her cancer treatments until recently and was proud to still be active and working at the age 70.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Dennis Rush will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie . Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, or one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
