Mary Florence French, died at 2:41 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home. She was born on August 31, 1922 in Strafford, Missouri to the late James Baker Bray and the late Ora (Houston) Bray. Mary married William "Bill" D. French on April 27, 1968 in Eaton. He precedes her in death on June 19, 1988.
She retired from Chatfield Paper aka Mead Merchant in 1985 after 35 years of service.
Mary enjoyed reading doing cross-word puzzles and gardening.
She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the AMVETS Auxiliary.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Greta M. Doty of Montpelier, Gladys M. (husband, Richard II) Wolfe of Hartford City, Dixie L. Coffman of Kokomo; son-in-law, Dick Roberts of Hartford City; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thanks to Tammy Huffman and Heather Wolfe, step-granddaughters of Mary for their special care of her at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, John A. Coffman Jr., James Edward Coffman; daughter, Beverly A. Roberts; one grandchild; sisters, Dorothy Rich, Leona Roland; and brother, James Bray.
Visitation for Mary will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 at Keplinger Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Thomas of Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle Church officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
