Mary Esther Harris, 81, of Parker City, lost a battle to a brief illness, Monday evening at Parker Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 29th, 1932 in Muncie, and was the daughter of the late Cleo & Lucille (Chalfant) Cline.
Mary Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved bowling, supporting the Muncie Central Bearcats, and most recently Wapahani Raiders. Mary Esther worked has a co-superintendent with her husband building restaurants. She had been employed by Satterfield''s, McCarty Construction, and Custom Installers. Mary Esther attended church for many years at New Burlington Methodist and most recently at Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene.
Mary Esther is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Marlan B. Harris of Parker City, whom she married April 30th , 1950 at New Burlington Methodist Church; her four children, Nicki Jackson (Spencer) of Biloxi, MS, Jerry Harris (Sharon) of Yakima, WA, Randy Harris (Barbara) of Nuevo, CA, and Gay Sparks (Ken) of Parker City; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren, a sister Deborah McGinnis of Texas; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mary Esther will be held Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor''s Jim Ballenger and Bill Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
