Mary Jean Hartzog, 91, of Hartford City, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Crown Pointe Communities. She was born on January 11, 1919 in Redkey, IN to the late John G. and Marie (Moore) Ford. Mary Jean is a graduate of Dunkirk High School. On November 26, 1938 she married her love, Robert M. Hartzog in Kentucky.
Mary Jean was a homemaker all of her life. She lived in Cincinnati for 32 years before returning home to Indiana. Mary Jean was also a wonderful caretaker and enjoyed caring for friends and family members.
Mary Jean is survived by her loving siblings: sister Christine Lyons (the late Don) of Springboro, OH; brother Dick Ford (the late Margaret) of Dunkirk; Shirley Young (husband, Ed) of Celina, OH; and sister-in-law Lois Ford of Dunkirk ; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Robert Hartzog; sister June Haney (husband, Russell) and brother Harry Donn Ford.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 noon with Reverend Jeff Ford officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
