Mary Lee Jones, 71, of Muncie, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on October 1, 1935 to Merlin and Annie Lee Malone in Muncie, Indiana.
She attended Muncie Schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1954. Mary was employed over the years at Warner Gear and Ball Corporation. Mary was united in marriage to Paul E. Jones on June 22, 1957. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member of Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God In Christ under the leadership of Bishop Robert L. Redding. Mary was a member of the Mignonettes, and the Mr. & Mrs. Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband of 49 years Paul E. Jones; two sons, Ronnie M. Jones (wife - Gwen), Alvin E. Jones, and one daughter Shenita M. Book (husband - Vernon Sr.) all of Muncie; seven grandchildren, Krista Garrett (husband - Douglas Sr.), Kimberly Vance (husband - William), Jason Jones, Vernon II, Ryan, Jayda, and Ja`Kayla Book and 4 great-grandchildren all of Muncie. Mary also leaves behind her special cousin, Henrietta Price and best friend Faye Hutchinson who was like a sister to her, and a host of cousins, other special friends, and close relatives.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Merlin and Annie Lee Malone, one son Craig Allen Malone, and one special grandson Ronnie Maurice Jones II.
The family would like to thank the Ball Memorial Hospital Heart Failure Clinic, the staff of the Coronary Care Unit and Medical Consultants.
Homegoing services will be 1:30 PM on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with Bishop Robert L. Redding officiating.
