IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ann
King
August 13, 1932 – April 30, 2025
Mary Ann (McDonald) King, 92, of Parker City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
She was born on August 13, 1932, to the late John and Esta (Kendall) McDonald. On
June 19, 1948, Mary married the love of her life, Donald King, and together they built a home filled with love, faith, and devotion.
Mary's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, and will be remembered for the unwavering love and care she gave to those around her.
Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. As a member of Glad Tidings Church, Mary found strength and community in her beliefs and formed many enduring friendships.
Throughout the years, Mary worked at several places including Spidel's Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners of Selma, Hills Department Store, and Osco Drug Store. Yet her truest calling was always at home -- caring for her family, a role she embraced wholeheartedly.
Mary is survived by her four children: David (Sue) of Hastings, MI; Mike (Rhonda) of Muncie; Darrell (Kim) of Anderson; and Mark of Parker City. She was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren—Chris, Jay, Mike, Cassidy, Casey, Rebecca, Jennifer, Jason, April, August, and Adrian—and a loving great-grandmother to 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Judy Peterson and brother Rick McDonald, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donald, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings Bonnie, Wanda, Bill, Ruth, Della Sue, and Jon.
Mary will be remembered for her deep love of family, her steadfast faith, and the quiet kindness she shared with all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Glad Tidings Church, 3001 S. Burlington. A funeral service will follow immediately, officiated by Pastor Kevin Holt.
