Mary Louise Lackey, 93, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Liberty Village Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
She was born on April 1, 1915 in Coffee County, Tennessee, the daughter of Reverend Daniel Wagner and Jenny May (Dean) Wagner and is survived by her two sisters. The family moved to Muncie in her late teens where she met her life partner of fifty three years, Paul Lackey, who preceded her in death in 1989.
She was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Delta Theta Chi Sorority and was a member of various card clubs. She loved deep and was a gentle lady.
Mary and her husband Paul were blessed with three children, Ronald Lackey (wife, Shelva), Muncie, Carolyn Dennis (husband, Don), Sebring, Florida, and Sandra Echols, who they lost to death in 1978. Also preceded her in death are her parents; two brothers; and a sister.
Her love for her seven grandchildren, Cindy Priddy, Scott Dennis, Lana Doss, Kipp Dennis, Ronda Snider, Trev Echols, and Marni Bell was great. She was also blessed with fifteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Parson Mortuary with the Reverend Dennis Rush officiating. Entombment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
