Mary Jane (Mohler) Rinker, 91, of Indianapolis, formerly of Muncie, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.
Mary was born July 23, 1924 in Madison County, Indiana to the late Earl and Mattie (Stephenson) Mohler. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1941. She married Albert Rinker. They shared 56 years together before his death in 2002. Mary worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for Marhofer Meat Packing for 12 years and then for Morrison Galliher Insurance Company for 8 years before her retirement in 1987. Mary was an active member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church of Muncie and Castleton United Methodist Church of Indianapolis. Mary enjoyed caring for her flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed time spent with family and helping others.
Mary is survived by three children, Janet Rinker of Indianapolis, Peggy Finney of Sheridan, and Wayne Rinker (wife Melissa) of Indianapolis; two siblings, Genevieve Sayer of Anderson and Lewis Mohler (wife Martha) of Sun City West, AZ; four grandchildren, Adam Finney (wife Lindsey) of Rockford, IL, Brian Finney of Seattle, WA, Tracy Franklin (husband Joe) of Lafayette, and Katharine Rinker of Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to celebrate Mary''s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3 in Muncie, Indiana. Pastor Rusty Clements will officiate. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Garden View Funeral Home.
