Mary Ellen Perry, 80, passed away Sunday February 8, 2009 at the Renaissance Specialty Hospital after an extended illness. She was born on October 21, 1928 in Muncie, IN the daughter of Ezra and Sadie Lowman. She graduated from Central High School in 1947. On September 4, 1948 she married Jack C. Perry in St. Mary''s Catholic Church. Last September her and her husband celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She was a former member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Women of the Moose and WIPC Bowling Leagues. She was an avid golfer and former member of Crestview Golf Course.
Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband Jack Perry of Muncie, IN; one daughter, Kathy Perkins (husband: Bill) of Muncie; Sister-in-law, Shirley Wilburn (husband: Tom) of Muncie; brother-in-law, Charles Perry (wife: June) of Muncie; Ralph Perry (wife: Barbara) of Muncie; James Perry (wife: Betty) of Indianapolis, IN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jack Douglas Perry, a brother Don Lowman.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 11, 2009 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 820 E. Charles Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association and the East Central Indiana Little Red Door. Special thanks to all who took care of her at the Renaissance Specialty Hospital.
