Mary Emily Reece Alberson, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Morrison Woods Health Campus. Mary was born on March 30, 1921 in Parker City, IN to the late Charles Emerson and Hattie (Thornburg) Hernly. Mary married her love Lloyd G. Reece in 1939 until his passing in 1979. In May of 1993 Mary married R. Glen Alberson and was married until his passing in February 2011.
Mary was employed with Quality Control for Anchor Hocking in Winchester for 36 years before retiring in 1985. Mary enjoyed bowling, square dancing, quilting, traveling with her husband Glen, and flower and vegetable gardening. Mary was a member of Eastern Star # 104 as well as the senior group Caleb''s Kin at Grace Baptist Church. Mary''s family will miss her greatly and especially now as she would have been tending to her garden and flowers.
Mary is survived by her loving children: Richard Reece (wife, Becky) of Muncie; L. Eugene Reece (wife, Kathy) of Parker City; Garry Reece (wife, Carol) of Muncie; Jimmy Reece of Orlando, FL; and Eddie Reece (wife, Deborah) of Muncie; step-son Eugene Alberson (wife, Marlene) of Noblesville; step-daughters: Wanda Adams (husband, George) of Lehigh Acres, FL and Mary Lee Brown (husband, Phil) of Desota; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Lloyd G. Reece; second husband R. Glen Alberson; 6 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will be on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
