Mary Kathryn Russell, 96, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Liberty Village in Muncie. Mary K. was born on July 25, 1914 in Trafalgar, IN to the late Chester O. and Julia K. (Barnes) Bridgman.
Mary K. graduated from Ball State University. She worked as an office administrator for a medical firm for many years in the Muncie area before moving to the Chicago area. She retired in 1984. Mary K. enjoyed making clothing for dolls and then donating them to Toys for Tots. She also knitted hats. Mary K. also enjoyed donating school supplies to her good friend Linda Arment who teaches at Sutton Elementary School. Mary K. also loved to travel which occasionally brought her overseas to Europe.
Mary K. is survived by her loving son Jon Q. Russell (wife, Bonnie); niece Julia Ann Washburn (husband, Walter); nephew Phillip E. Bridgman (wife, Lucretia); another nephew Zachary D. Patty; and good friend Linda Arment, all of Muncie.
Mary K. was preceded in death by her parents and brother Earl M. Bridgman (wife, Velva).
Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, has been entrusted with arrangements. Per Mary K.''s request, there will not be any calling hours at the funeral home.
