Mary Elizabeth Sprong, 88, of Muncie, passed away on May 6, 2020.  She was born in Attica, IN, on March 31, 1932 to Melvin and Almedia (Howell) Odle.  She married the love of her life, Victor J. Sprong, on December 16, 1966.  She earned her Ph.D. from Purdue.

Mary lived and worked all of her life on the family farm, Sprong Farms.  She loved to read her Bible, attend Sunday school, and worship with her Edon Church family.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister that will be missed by many.  Those include her son, David (Marianne) Sprong; step-son, Tim Sprong; grandchildren: Alexandra Sprong (fiancé, Robert BonJour), Jacob (Jenna) Sprong, Abbigail Sprong, and Taryn Spangler; great-grandson, Parker Sprong; and sister, Nancy Phillips.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bob Odle; and her husband, Victor Sprong.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Garden View Funeral Home , 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, with the funeral service on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 12:00 noon.  Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com .
